Job opportunity for MSc Naval Architect or Industrial Engineer
Wedge Global is pleased to announce that we are recruting 1 MSc Naval Architect or Industrial Engineer to focus on a range of projects related to wave energy conversion.
WEDGE GLOBAL S.L. is a recently established trading company with 100% Spanish capital (we are based in Santander, Spain, with project office in Madrid) derived from the project start-up WEDGE and made up by its two founding partners, business and technological development, together with SODERCAN (investment organization in the Cantabrian government). http://wedgeglobal.com/en
Wedge’s Mission:
- Created in 2008 to develop an innovative solution for generating electricity from ocean waves (wave energy), a new and steadily growing segment within the renewable energy industry.
- To reduce wave electricity production costs to sustainable levels through technology development, operational excellence and scalability to ultimately compete with conventional generation.
- To provide an integrated, portfolio-based approach to project economics from site selection and project development through transmission access, power purchase agreement and project asset sale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assuming tasks related to conceptual desgin, modelling and analysis of floating bodies for electricity offshore generation from wave energy.
- Contract for approx. 24 months
COMPETENCES
Essential
- Good student record
- High-level English skills
Preferred
- Advanced knowledge in Hydrodynamics
- Experience with scientific software, in particular Finite Element calculations
- Experience in project development, in particular in Renewable Energy
- Experience in ships/platforms design and manufacture tracking
- French and German skills
