- Title
- Streamlining Offshore Wave Farms Impact Assessment (SOWFIA)
- Position
- Post Doc
- Research focus
- The lack of coordinated policies for the environmental and socio-economic impact assessment (IA) of wave energy projects is seen by many as an obstacle to the development of the wave energy sector. The SOWFIA project is designed to bring together the experience in terms of IA from EU wave energy test sites; aiming to develop a coordinated tool to facilitate the growth of the wave energy industry. This is achieved by assessing barriers and accelerators of the IA process, evaluating IA methodologies, developing a Data Management Platform tool and making recommendations for streamlining the consent of wave energy projects
