What is RSS?

RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a tecnology used to publish news and information.
With RSS you can merge all information sources into one, without having to visiting many diferent websites searching for the information you want

Joining your own feed collection keeps you updated with the lates news/information. All you need is an internet connection.


How is
RSS used?
To use RSS, you will need a newsreader. There are many kinds of newsreaders available. Some are programs that you will need to download and install on your computer - some will work based on your browser. Today most browsers have RSS reader build-in.

Below you have a list of links for some newsreaders that you can download. When you finish the installation you are ready to add RSS services where you want regular updates. This is done adding the URL (universal resource link) on the newsreader. Most newsreaders allow this to be done by drag and drop.

How can i add an RSS feed to my newsreader?
Using "FeedReader" as example:

  1. First you will need to download and install the program on your computer
  2. Open the program, click on the 'file' menu and choose 'add feed'
  3. Insert the feed address that you wich to add. For example clicking on the link and selecting 'copy shortcut'
  4. Right click on the "Location" field on the FeedReader and select 'paste', click 'Next', and then 'Finish'. The RSS feed has been added to the feedreader.
  5. And you will be getting updates on the feed very soon
