Statkraft AS |
The Statkraft Group is the third largest producer of electricity in the Nordic region, and the second largest producer of electricity based on renewable energy sources in Europe. The group produces 42TWh per year and engages in power trading from offices in the Nordic region and on the Continent. In Norway, the group runs its power grid and end-user operations via regional companies in which Statkraft owns shares.
Statkraft has taken an activ position within offshore wind, wave and tidal energy. Among other things they have initiated a research program where they spend approx €10m on offshore renewable energy in cooperation with the three Scandinavian universities NTNU, DTU and Uppsala. The three universities match the statkraft funding and thereby double the budget. |
